Product Information

The French company Peugeot may be most commonly associated with cars, but they actually made spice mills first, far back in 1874. In the 146 years since, no other salt and pepper mills stay as sharp, resist corrosion as well, and last as long, which is why nobody in the culinary industry would hesitate to call them ‘iconic’. Salt, unlike pepper, can corrode metal if it absorbs too much moisture. That’s why most salt mill blades are made from less durable ceramic. Not Peugeot’s, which are made from rust-resistant 18/10 stainless steel so it lasts many years. The six u’Select grind settings can be found on the bottom of the mill with the roman numerals—I is finest, and VI is most coarse. The body is made from European beech wood hand-coated with seven layers of lacquer for a beautiful gloss finish. Traditionally, darker coloured pepper mills are paired with lighter or white salt mills, but there are no hard and fast rules.
