Emma Bridgewater - Edward I Half Pint Mug

Only 1 left in stock!

Edward I, also known as the ‘Hammer of the Scots’ is depicted on this half pint mug, part of the Kings & Queens collection by Emma Bridgewater. It is made in the classic ‘tankard-style’ shape inspired by the mugs produced in the 19th century Staffordshire potteries.

The wonderful illustration by Matthew Rice depicts Gothic archways, one of which frames an image of Edward. In another, a group of Scots can be seen enduring the Edict of Expulsion of 1290. The illustrations are accompanied by phrases describing the events of the era in the unique calligraphic style of Mathew Rice.
